Her teaching style is always respectful and done with a smile, yet she consistently provides students with a firm structure to optimize their learning potential. She imparts grace, poise, confidence, skill and inner strength to all of her students. Children of all ages adore Candy and can hardly wait for the next class to begin!”

“When my 11 year old daughter saw a twirling performance at her school choreographed by Candy, she became interested immediately in twirling. I called Candy, started private lessons and with Candy’s encouragement, my 13 year old is on the JV team and about to do her first solo competition. Candy is an expert with motivating young adults into achieving their dreams!”

“I have seen a lot of coaches in my 19 years of coaching in the Northeast Georgia area but Candy Byrd is simply put – THE BEST. First, she teaches her girls to be dependable, trustworthy and obedient and that is a lost art in today’s youth. Second, she is a goal oriented teacher that passes those same principles of setting high goals on to her girls as well. Finally, she has certainly responded to the call of Christian Leadership with in the community. In short, Candy Byrd has earned a reputation as a hard-working, trustworthy coach who strives to excel.”
— Coach Michael V. Palmer, MVP School of Sports

“Candy is more than just an excellent coach. She is a role model for my daughter in a world where being a teenage girl is increasingly becoming more challenging. Under Candy’s instruction, Murphy has become both and excellent twirler headed for a college majorette position, and an amazing young lady. Thanks, Candy!”

“When my daughter, Catherine, was in kindergarten she told me she wanted to twirl the baton. Three years later, I am amazed at her skill level and the confidence that she has developed because of her coach – Candy Byrd. Candy has a disciplined approach but always in an encouraging manner…and you can tell because all of the girls look up to her. We feel blessed to know Candy because she has been such a positive influence in Catherine’s life.”

“Our two year experience with Candy Byrd as a twirl coach has been nothing short of exemplary, reflecting Candy’s knowledge, patience and work ethic. Our six year old, Grace, has advanced in twirling at an unbelievable pace. She loves twirling and adores Candy. We could not have ask for a better coach.”

“My daughter has taken baton lessons from Candy Byrd Miller since 2011. I have found Candy to be an excellent coach, mentor and instructor. Candy evaluates each girl’s strengths during the first few classes. She then expands on those strengths as she teaches the student the basics of baton twirling. She teaches by example and with return demonstration, she teaches the girls to watch and learn from each other.
Candy is an excellent choreographer. The routines she choreographs are age appropriate and tasteful. She pulls from her experience as an UGA Feature Twirler and years as an individual and team coach. She advances the technological aspects of each routine while keeping the routine within the group’s skill range. She also asks for input from each girl on the choreography therefore allowing them to make the routine their own.
Candy has all the right qualities in a coach. She is warm, friendly, and kind. She has a vast experience in the baton twirling sport. She is firm when need be but is not extreme in discipline. She is everything I could ask for in a coach for my 10 year old daughter. We have been very pleased with her instruction and guidance. Any girl would be very lucky to have her as their coach.”

Coach Byrd does so many things behind the scenes for us to make our experience so enjoyable. She answers all my questions with understanding and kindness. I am grateful for her.”

“My 8 yr old daughter has taken twirling class from Candy for 3 yrs. She LOVES everything about it and now wants to be a twirler when she grows up! When I have watched Candy instructing the kids, I am impressed always with how much enthusiasm and love she shows the children. I am also lucky to call Candy a friend.
